We sometimes need a specific image, but don’t have the ability to draw it ourselves or can’t find a free clipart that fits what we need… WELL! Here are a few free Photoshop objects that should help some of your projects…

	Basic shapes Nice full images that fit anywhere and can be easily modified for your own design. Always usefull.
	Arrows Arrows from the same website. Again, these are always usefull to have around.
	Decorative shapes When you need to decorate a page fast! Basic but still stylish…
	Snowflakes For your holiday and winter pages! Never have enough, since there are no snowflake that look the same!
	Holiday stars
	Modern mix Great mix of modern objects, to decorate your web page or printed design! LOVE these!
	Vector circles … for a retro look

Good web layout tutorials

Here are a few websites I found to get some tips and tutorials on making web layouts.

	Good Tutorials A lot of tutorials of different graphic styles coming from many sources and websites.
	Talk-mania Theme-based layouts. You will also find the tutorials to convert your PSD template in a CSS/HTML document
	27 Best Photoshop Web layouts A compilation of good tutorials. Some of them you will find in the websites I listed earlier.
	Nature inspired web background The design is beautiful, but I’m not quite sure of the practicality of the method… The tutorial could be used for any other printed document or just a desktop background!

Freebie: funky fabric texture

This week I decided I would share some great fabric I scanned from a former client of mine: Eloise Ouellette, a great costume designer and creator.
She made this texture herself during her fashion design courses.

Fix choked outlined vector type

This tip is for Illustrator CS2 and less, which don’t have the stroke outside option…

To avoid type that chokes between its stroke lines, try adding a stroke that is double the size you actually need.
If you want a 2-point stroke, change the stroke to 4 points.
Then, make a copy of your text and choose EDIT – PASTE IN FRONT.
Make sure that the stroke is NONE, and you’ll see a much more presentable outlined type.

Before, with a 6pts stroke

After, with a 12 pts stroke and a no-stroke black text on top

While searching for a specific type of skull, I found all of these… I obviously didn’t try all of them, so I’d appreciate constructive comments! ;o)

	10 skull brushes by Q brushes Pirate-style vintage detailed skulls!
	Round-up of 10 free skull brush sets I always like to find a lot of choices in one place!
	Death brushes by BTP4U Seems to be a good quality! I Like the pirate/vintage feel of it.
	Vector skull brushes by free-brushes.com Hi res stuff !
	Damaged death skull brushes on Brusheezy by KeepWaiting A LOT of brushes in this set! Don’t know about the quality though…
	Vector skulls by Ben blogged This is NOT A BRUSH ! But I found them very nice and thought I should share… Make sure you open them in your vector software, or else you won’t be able to get transparency.
	Vector skulls pack by mulpo.com Again, NOT BRUSHES, but you can use this vector file to scale it as you wish !
